Chief Eating Officer
Segnature

My name is Chantal. I am the founder of Medican ID and this is my CEO (chief eating officer) Winston.

I wish we could have met under better circumstances cause no doubt, if you are here, you have been through it. I hear you. Me too. Can I just start by sending you love? Being of not good health is “SH!T” so I am sorry that you are not feeling yourself, out of control and unable to just get on with it at times. It sucks.

So just quickly I wanna share a bit of my story. Circle back to June 2020, Covid hysteria had finally calmed, I was in full prep mode as Winston and I were moving to Mexico.

Jamming in some family time before we set off. We all went to a footy game, my sister and I smuggled in some vodka, lime slices and grabbed some cold sparkling water from the canteen, we were living our best lives! The next day I woke up crook. A week later I had my first seizure. And just like that my life changed.

Fast forward a few months my mum is living with me and I’m unable to do the bare minimum, often stuck to the mattress in pain. As the days rolled into months, with periods of no relief, just getting through the day was all the energy I had. My life was put on hold.

Eventually things did start to pick up, ever so slowly. With the unpredictability of it all, one of my biggest challenges was being in public places. I started at the local supermarket. They got to know me pretty well! I got busted in a body droop in the tea aisle, arm spasms in the fruit and veg section, my head planted on the freezer door in the ice cream aisle, yeah it was awesome (obvious sarcasm there). But through it all my biggest challenge was alway losing my ability to talk. I could hear, I could see, but not communicate. I just needed to find something to give me a voice when I would loose mine.

I started looking at Medical IDs but in an effort to look like jewellery everyone would miss them, I needed something that stood out like DOG BALLS.

Also another challenge is that 100% off the medical IDs out there were built for medical professionals who 1. Knew what they looked like and 2. Knew to even check for one. There was nothing to help people who don’t require medical attention. I just needed something to help me and other around me get through the incident with as little stress as possible. Cause trust me there is nothing like a seizure to make people loose their mind and I want to avoid being in the back of an ambulance.

MediScan ID utilises NFC technology, a technology that is already build into our smart phones. Most people use it on a daily basis when they pay using their phone wallet. How cool is that!

I hope this helps, I’ve been using mine for the past 6 months and it was very helpful while I was at a music festival and things got a bit hectic… Worth It!!!!

Lots of love and hugs

Chantal x
